Family.
What's the first thing that clicks your mind? Maybe a picture of your happy family, smiling faces of them as they holding each other through thick and thin, your support system.
But i don't know what's the feeling of having a family means as I stared at the huge mirror facing in front of me.
The lady i am seeing through the mirror is not me. It's a young hopeless petite woman dressed up in heavy maroon colour bridal lehenga which brightened her already pale skin more.
She is adorned with millions of worth personally designed jewellery that came from her inlaw's house. Her face had a very light makeup done by the make-up artist yet She look beautiful.
Her grey orbs were void of any emotions. She is not Amrita. The Amrita i know is a girl who don't have any expectations with anyone. She is not beautiful. She is forbidden child with scars given on her body as a attempt of bravery against her father.
Unknowingly my fingers went up to the left side of my numbed cheeks. The reddish bruise had lightened up a little. Every father gives a gift to their daughter on their wedding day and i received one. A perfect slap for my defiance against my father,
Mr Raichand.
The familiar emotions like love and care once i felt, was only given by my grandpa. Isn't it cruel that the person whom i loved the most are the same person my god snatched them away from me.
In the end now the emotions i felt more comfortable with are hate, disgust, pain and suffering offered by the people of this house.
"Are you ready? Be quick i don't want us to be late." Came the voice of my stepmom, Mrs Raichand as she kept glaring at me. Her voice snapped me back from my thoughts.
She was standing at the entrance of the room " 2 minutes" i mumbled as my eyes were casted down. Mrs Raichand don't like my eyes cause they remind her of my mother and the misery she had to went through it.
"Whatever be quick. And heed my words very well after getting married don't act like a sult in front any married man, well what can i expect from daughter of sult anyway" she gritted out venomously. Her eyes were glaring as she left from the room not before slamming the door.
unknowingly I bited my lower lips to control my tears. No, no, no, Don't cry. You are strong. Don't be affected by her. Think something else. Yes! Marriage.
I am scared. I can't run away from this marriage.
i don't know whether to feel happy, relieved or to be anxious and worried because Veeranshu Singhania, a man i can never dream of having in this life yet ironically i am getting married to him.
A man whom i don't know. We never had a proper conversation, so meeting him was the entire different story.all i knew about him are the rumours and the thought of those rumours being true made shivers run down my body.
"Beta, can i come in" a voice called out from the other side of the door ,the only person who understand me. She is the head maid, a sane person in this crazy family.
" yes Maya aunty" I said
With that Maya aunty came inside the room. Her eyes were glistened with tears of happiness as she immediately wiped them off.
"I am so happy to see you getting married. I wish ma'am was there to see you. Thanks to the Sir, your grandpa, you are getting out from his hell. May god bless you with a beautiful married life" Maya aunty said as she grabbed my hands giving her warmth to my pale cold hands.
I hurriedly nodded my head because if I utter anything, I am sure that I won't be able to stop myself from crying. As if she understood my dilemma. She smiled at me making me smile painful.
" Here"
she gave me an envelope. "It is the letter your grandpa left for you. He wanted to give you at your wedding but as you know it's too late. now that he is no more. So it was my responsibility to give you." She said as her eyes were shining with relief that her last responsibility is finally over before she could take her retirement.
"Wh-.." before i could asked her, she already left. My trembling hands opened the envelope and the words I read made me realised something as unknowingly I felt warm tears spilling out from my eyes as a sob broked out from my lips.
My child,
I know that I don't have much time left and I don't know if I could deliver this letter at your wedding day but my blessings are always with you. You might have many questions which i couldn't answer back then but trust me. I was tensed with your growing age and the inflicting sufferings those rascals were giving you. I can't save you all the time right? What to do i am an old grandpa now hahaha. Veeranshu Singhania needs you as much as you also need him, I can blindly trust him.. he is a gem that need to understand his value. Please always stood by his side. Be a best wife for him consider this as my last request. My friend and I made this choice while thinking carefully, with time you will understand my decision. lastly, you deserve the best, my brave child. Never give up on yourself.
Congratulations to your wedding and have a blessed long married life.
Your strict yet silly grandpa
Krishna Raichand.
" T-thank you grandpa for giving me courage....I will alway miss you. "
"I will fulfill my responsibilities as a wife" i said with a newfound determination and hope as i wiped my tears.

At downstairs
The whole mansion was decorated with different vibrant colours of flowers and whitepink pastel coloured curtain were wrapped all around the huge hall with a beautiful traditional mandap decorated just below a sparkling chandelier. The decoration was screaming money as important guest such as business magnets, politician and celebrities along with many influencers were seated on the sofa while the waiter and waitresses were serving drinks.
Inside the mandap, Veeranshu was already seated. He was wearing a white colour sherwani having golden handwork embroidery pattern on it which was doing justice to his charmastic handsomeness. Despite his stoic emotionless face,He was screaming royalty in that outfit.
Beside him,Amrita was sitting along with him with a small smile on her face because they are getting subjected to the constant flashing and clicking sound of the camera. Of course media and paparazzi were clicking photos as if it was their last day on the earth.
She stared at her family acting picture of 'perfect family' as they were constantly smiling at her while they kept attending guest and my in laws.
As the priest said she placed her hand on the top of his with that priest again chanted the mantra while pouring ghee in the fire. Amrita eyes unknowingly travelled through her net veil which has covered her half of the face, stealing a small glance at Veeranshu.
His jaws were clenched and eyes emotionless. She don't want to admit. His black iris. They are the most exquisite orbs. Those black orbs can make one's fall into a Abyss. That's the first thing she had noticed when they met each other.
His raven hair were perfectly styled up back.He has defined cheekbones, a strong jawline, and expressive yet cold eyes that could draw you in. His features are well-balanced and add overall charm and appeal.
And His body was no joke, well built abs and broadchest along with his veiny arms which can be makeout from his outfit.Any girl would die to have him.
She was suddenly brought back into the reality as could feel how his rough calloused hand has tightened the grip around her hand in an inhumane way which will surely leave a bruise on her hand. Her brows ceased up in pain.
' this is nothing but a forced marriage against our will because i have reasons to do this but what's your?, Veeranshu'
she wanted to ask desperately. This marriage is a responsibility that Amrita had to perform whether she likes it or not.
It was time for taking vow as they both stand up for taking vow. A vow of helping each other in sick or health, respect, love, compassion and promising the eternity with each other but here it was something else. These vow are deprived of love or more like a saga of hatred, disgust and repulsion.
"I vow to break you in a way you won't be able to heal."
"I vow to be with you in your weakest or highest point in your life."
"I vow that I won't give a damn about you "
"I vow that you will be going to be my first priority."
" I vow to be a worst husband as you deserve that."
" I vow to be a better wife who can fullfil his expectations. He and his family will always be my first priority. "
They both vowed in front of the fire as with each vow they promised their life together. The match made in hell or heaven? As one promised to torment her. Break her. Destroy her. While other vowed only for his felicity, to give him unconditional care and his prosperity.
With that their fate was sealed in a bond of eternal marriage. Unaware of what holds in their future because
"In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, love has a way of finding its path, even in the most unlikely circumstances."
